Nursing students provide heart screening at high school

NIU nursing students participated in the Young Hearts for Life (YH4L) EKG screening at Larkin High School in Elgin, Ill. in February. YH4L is the largest heart screening program in the U.S. and offers free heart screenings to detect conditions that could lead to sudden cardiac death later in adults. Students from Karin Glenn’s and Alicia Connolly’s Population Health classes participated in the event.
