Professor of Nursing earns top teaching honor at NIU

Jeanette Rossetti

Jeanette Rossetti has been awarded the prestigious NIU Presidential Teaching Professorship for 2017-2021. She becomes only the second recipient from the School of Nursing in the 27 year history of the award.

The award was established in 1990 to recognize outstanding teachers who inspire students, apply rigorous standards, demonstrate extraordinary commitment to students and their welfare and explore new effective instructional methods. With the award comes an expectation that Rossetti will carry out a continued agenda of instructional improvement during the four-year award period. She is awarded an additional $5,000 each of the four years to support her efforts.

Rossetti will be recognized in a ceremony on April 20.

A faculty member with the School of Nursing since 2002, Rossetti has earned a number of awards, to include Outstanding Teacher of the Year (2006), the CHHS Lankford Award for Teaching Excellence (2007), and the Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (2009).
