Danica Billingsly, clinical assistant professor and Audiology Clinical Coordinator
Danica Billingsly, clinical assistant professor and Audiology Clinical Coordinator, is the recipient of the 2021 School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders (AHCD) Clinical Faculty Award.
“The AHCD Clinical Award acknowledges the unique nature of clinical teaching and the talent required to do it well,” said Sherrill Morris, chair of AHCD. “Current students and alumni describe the vital impact Dr. Billingsly has had on their education through her high expectations and encouragement.”
Clinical faculty oversee students as they synthesize theoretical and academic concepts, and mentor students as they integrate knowledge and skills. Morris said Billingsly is lauded for her expertise as well as her teaching style.
“Dr. Billingsly understands that students need to learn by trying, and provides an excellent balance of student autonomy and support,” Morris said. “While she expects students to have a deep understanding of concepts and have the ability to explain their actions, she provides guidance and support as they reach their goals.”
