Dioco Reyes, a senior in NIU’s Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program, was one of two students in the state who received the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science-Illinois (ASCLS-IL) Future Leaders Scholarship Award. 
“This award will fund my trip to the ASCLS annual meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will mark the beginning of my involvement with the state society after graduation,” Reyes said. “Attending the meeting will allow me to network with professionals within my field and learn more about clinical laboratory science.”
As part of the award, Reyes will serve on the ASCLS-IL committee for one year after he graduates from NIU this spring.
“I look forward to becoming more involved with clinical laboratory science at the state level,” Reyes said.
