More than 50 students, faculty and staff took part in a Healthcare Simulation Week open house hosted by NIU School of Nursing on Sept. 15. The event, complete with educational and virtual reality technology demonstrations, games, facility tours and refreshments was held in conjunction with the Society of Simulation Healthcare (SSH) weeklong celebration.
“While a simulation lab is a component within many nursing programs, the NIU School of Nursing’s simulation lab is a major feature and point of pride within the program,” said Kristen Selig, director of Nursing Laboratories. “Our labs offer students the chance to work in a hands-on environment to improve their critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.”![]()
