NIU Child Development and Family Center (CDFC) maintained the ExceleRate Illinois Gold Circle of Quality.
“Having a gold rating in ExceleRate – and maintaining it – means that all staff have met and maintained professional learning levels,” said Kristin Schulz, executive director of the CDFC. “This includes bachelor degrees, master degrees, and continued learning and development of their skills to maintain credentials.”
Schulz said their team takes great pride in earning the ExceleRate Illinois Gold Circle of Quality.
“We offer a high quality, child-focused learning environment and use a state approved emergent curriculum and assessment tools,” Schulz said. “We take pride in knowing the hard work we put into training goes back into the lives of the children, families, and students we serve.”
Thomas Pavkov, chair of the School of Family and Consumer Sciences, shared the sentiment.
“The Child Development and Family Center continues to be an exemplar of high quality childcare services for NIU students and also residents of north central Illinois,” Pavkov said.
