The NIU Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology graduate programs are being evaluated for reaccreditation by the Council for Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in February. Public feedback is a part of that process.
All are invited to a public comment meeting 4:30 p.m., Feb. 19, at the Health Wellness and Literacy Center, 3100 Sycamore Road, DeKalb, room 230.
This is a chance to meet the accreditation site visitors, give feedback about the programs and the NIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, and ask and answer questions. For more information call 815-753-1484 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to these opportunities for providing public comment regarding a program’s accreditation status, the CAA has separate procedures for filing written feedback or a formal complaint about a CAA-accredited program. Individuals who wish to provide written feedback or file a formal complaint should contact the Accreditation Office to obtain a copy of the complaint procedures. A copy of the Standards for Accreditation and/or the CAA’s Policy on Public Comment can be obtained by contacting the Accreditation Office at ASHA, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, calling ASHA’s Action Center at 1-800-498-2071, or accessing the documents online at caa.asha.org/.
