ELS, an intensive language training institute, with a branch on NIU’s campus, hosted a group of 20 students from the University of Kumamoto in Japan during the month of March. As part of their visit and studies, the NIU School of Nursing hosted them for an afternoon. All 20 Japanese students are studying to work in the health care field, with many of them hoping to be nurses.
The visit included a tour of the building and simulation lab, followed by a panel discussion involving School of Nursing faculty and students. The Japanese students then returned the favor by inviting students to a pizza social that evening. Both American and Japanese students had a great time learning about each other and their respective programs.
