Student groups tend community garden

Two NIU School of Nursing student groups pitched in to help at NIU Cares Day recently. The Northern Prairie Alliance (a chapter of the American Association of Men in Nursing) and the Student Nurses Organization (SNO) both rallied their members to join the NIU community in this annual community service event.  Over 20 nursing students participated and spent a few hours preparing the Community Garden for the spring. They readied the soil and planted vegetables and flowers at the site.  The NIU community garden was established in the spring of 2014 and is just one of the many sites that make up the network of gardens around DeKalb County as a part of DeKalb County Community Gardens (DCCG).
