Audiology student wins coveted research award

Congratulations to fourth year Audiology student, Kassondra Hemmen for earning the James and Susan Jerger Award for Excellence in Student Research for her capstone poster at the American Academy of Audiology Conference recently.
Hemmen is the first NIU student to win this competitive award. Her poster, “Quantifying Aging Effects on the Ocular Vestibular-Evoked Myogenic Potential and Vestibular Microphonic” was presented under the guidance of her mentors, Blythe Kitner, NIU assistant professor, Matt Wilson, NIU associate professor, and Kaylee Smith, an NIU audiology alumna.
