The NIU Communicative Disorders Student Association (COMDSA) has had a great academic year. They’ve earned the following awards:
- 2019 Kevin D. Knight Outstanding Student Organization Award: COMDSA worked to uphold leadership skills, maintain performance as a student organization, and carry out university involvement. The organization provided members opportunities to advocate for the field, encouraged professional interest in studying normal and disordered human communication, and offered experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
- NSSLHA Gold Honors: COMDSA maintained NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) chapter affiliation, 30% of members acquired NSSLHA individual memberships, the chapter conducted legislative and community outreach events, updated the NSSLHA community webpage regularly, and raised funds for scholarship.
