NIU is hosting the Illinois Council on Family Relations (ILCFR) 2020 Conference: Breaking Barriers: Serving Immigrant Families, 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., April 3, at the Holmes Student Center Duke Ellington Ballroom.
Human Development and Family Sciences students are encouraged to attend the full day conference.
All the university community is invited to attend the keynote speech from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. delivered by Anita Maddali, J.D. Maddali is an associate professor of law at NIU, who teaches immigration law and constitutional law. She also directs the NIU College of Law legal clinic. She is also vice president for the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights Board of Directors. Maddali’s research explores the ways immigration laws and policies impact family unity for immigrant families.
