The American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) recently announced its 2020 student scholars and NIU is represented with two students. Glenn Agape Montero is among the 30 students selected from a nationwide application process. The designation as an APNA Student Scholar comes with a scholarship to attend the APNA’s 34 Annual Conference on September 30 – October 4, 2020 and a free one-year membership to the organization. Ms. Montero recently graduated from the NIU nursing program in May 2020 and was also recognized as the top graduate in psychiatric/mental health nursing by her award of the Nancy M. A second student scholar on the 2020 list, Katrina Ferracane, is a graduate of the NIU nursing program as an undergrad and was named a student scholar in her current role as a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
