NIU’s School of Nursing celebrated the first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduates in program history during the December 2020 virtual commencement.
Regine Larosiliere, of Frankfort, and Lilia Avila, of Roscoe, are the inaugural graduates of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
“NIU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program prepares experts for specialized advanced nursing practice at the doctoral level to translate evidence into innovative practice and leadership,” said Susan Matthew, director of Graduate Nursing Studies and clinical assistant professor. “Regine and Lilia were exemplary students; it will be exciting to see the impact our students will have on communities.”
