Chris Beldon set to retire

Chris Beldon, academic advisor for the School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders (AHCD), is retiring this month after nearly 15 years at NIU. Chris started as an extra help employee in 2006 and worked in a variety of roles before becoming a full-time advisor for AHCD in 2011.

Chris Beldon is retiring May 31.

Sherrill Morris, AHCD chair, said Beldon was “the cornerstone of support” for AHCD students for many years.

“Chris took the time to listen to students, creating an environment for mutual respect to flourish,” Morris said. “Because she viewed each student as an individual with hopes, dreams, strengths, and needs, students trusted her recommendations.”

Morris said the school is fortunate that Beldon was part of the AHCD team.

“She was a resource to faculty and staff as well as students,” Morris said. “Her insights and care will be greatly missed.”

Congratulations to Chris on her retirement! We wish her well.
