Evidence-based practice event for speech-language pathology students

Dozens of first-year speech-language pathology students gathered on Dec. 14 where they demonstrated how evidence, family values, and clinical expertise intertwine in 11 different clinical case studies.

Some of the clinical topics included: the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to support language development in autistic children; the effectiveness of parent-coaching for toddlers with language delays; and the benefits of collaborating with other professionals, such as occupational therapists and teachers, to enhance the effectiveness of our speech-language services.
