Degree: Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology

Experience at NIU: Regina was a non-traditional student who attended NIU in search of her second profession after a career change from accounting.

She served as Dr. Sherrill Morris’ teaching assistant for COMD 221 and was the founder of the Communicative Disorder Reform by Advocating Diversity (COMRAD) which served as a mentoring and support group for minority undergraduate and graduate students in the Communicative Disorders program.

Professional Success: From 2007-2017 Regina worked primarily in the skilled nursing facilities (SNF) and home health settings in the Chicagoland area evaluating and treating older adults with swallowing, communication and cognitive linguistic deficits.

Along with her husband, Regina is also the owner of the Cajun Connoisseur Food Truck and Catering business, which was featured on Chicago’s Best Food Truck Episode 5.
